2004 Bean Head café hosted a one women show by my good friend Tamara
Madden. The show seemed like it was a big success. My opinion is that it
was long over do for Tamara to bask in the appreciation of her work . I
hadn't seen any of her work in some time so I was shocked and amazed
to see how far she
has come as an artist in the last few years. Tamara has been able to do
what is a goal of every artist and that is to tap into her very soul and
find her style and flavor as an artist. And it shows in her work
every thing from her Caribbean roots to her love of life and the people.
Her work seems effortless yet complex as one is drawn into each image of
life in Jamaica.
It's hard to believe she has been able to connect so completely with the memories and atmosphere of her home land after spending so much time here in Milwaukee. The Journal Sentinel had a nice story on Tamara (here) and this page is my tribute to this wonderful, beautiful, special person who happens to be a great artist and friend.
