FUNKY URBAN ART

I love painting funky urban pictures. Having a back ground in comic art illustration is a strong point.

One of my all time favorite artist is Norman Rockwell. I loved the way he depicted what at the time I considered at a young age to be normal everyday Americans.

When I finally acquired the skills to paint what I was thinking of I wanted to depict my world, my America and my visions. Urban scenes was one of the must do styles I picked up.

Drawing a little from Rockwell adding a touch of Donald Goins, Iceberg Slim and Ernie Barns funky Urban art was born.

The painting "Troubled" expresses the fear and danger of the urban landscape when a young mans life goes from bad to worse. This painting ask the question what was the choices that led him to this place in his life.

Summer of Fun was done as a Cover for a news/zine I was involved with a few years back. It is Milwaukee in the summer.

"The Sunday Dinner" as well as others in this seres of works is a homage to the comfort of comsumption. Ummm can't you just feel the satisfaction. feel free to browse all the other works in the funky art section.
