He watched her
Stride across the room. Dressed in a tight fitting leather suit her
presence had all the beauty and grace of a sleek panther. He didn’t mind
that he was breaking his promise to himself not to mix business with
pleasure. His eyes followed
her and soon every one else was all background imagery as she was the only
person he could think of. She
stops at the bar and just as she arrived the bar tender had her drink
ready. She took a sip and then slyly she looked across the room right at
him as if she felt his stare and made eye contact. She was striking to
behold with her eyes having the exotic beauty of a jungle cat, full lips,
slick dark hair and olive complexion. She brought to mind many ethnic
groups. Her body was that of
a centerfold model tall buxom yet cut like a gymnasts.
He thought to himself “oh yeah this is my night this is my
night”. And it was his night for tonight was his big loss Angeles
opening for his new body of work. He
was pleased with the response to his new work he sold half of is work in
the first three hours. They were at the posh Loss Angeles Hiltons grand
ballroom. In the past five
years his chosen career as an artist has exploded. That wasn’t all
before that he made a small fortune betting on sporting events.
That was something he was not too proud of for reasons to be
explained later. In a half stilted effort he sauntered over to the bar and
introduced himself. Hi … um have we met before was his opening line of
choice. No not at all she said with a twinkle in her eye and half Mona
Lisa smile. He suddenly felt
a light cloudiness as if he’d had too much Champaign so he ignored it.
The bartender poured him a fresh drink before he even asked. As they
conversed he felt himself enthralled by her beauty and that made him
uneasy. So you’re an artist she stated yes did you catch my opening I
don’t remember seeing you there. It went well for you I see. And now you
figure to mingle and enjoy the rest of your little trip to L.A. Ok so you
must have been there. Does it really matter I am here now. You know your
fine as hell if you don’t mind me saying. You’re rather handsome
yourself I’m here on business and yes I am single. You seem to answer my
questions before I even ask. Oh I’m sorry it’s a bad habit of mine.
Well you have a talent for it you seem to know exactly what Im thinking.
And your wondering what other talents I have she said in a playful sort of
way. He laughed and said ok so what other talents do you have.
Eyes up here MR. the bigger question is what other talents do you have.
Just then he felt a head rush. He felt ever so slightly congestion in his
head not like a cold but like when you have been studying for a test and
your mind seems too full of information. I’m good at … um all sorts of
things if you know what I mean he answered. She felt slightly annoyed for
a second then took a sip from her drink and said oh really and what sorts
of things might that be. A man at the corner of the bar was staring as if
he had just noticed the tall beautiful girl in leather. The guy next to
him suddenly bumps him and spills a drink in his lap. Oh no looks like
some drama going to jump off. Yeah do you want to grab some dinner? As
long as its room service if you know what I mean. Your pretty forward we
just met… she interrupted and said you don’t mind. He said no um…
not really. We have your entire life to get to know each other. I
don’t know if I liked the way that sounds he said. The two exited the
bar that had become more crowded but people seemed to just move or shift
to allow straight passage it was odd that none of the other male patrons
had even bothered to check her out he thought after all she had a
overwhelming stature about herself.
